About Me

Hi, my name is Chloe Luo. I'm currently a junior at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Mathematics of Finance, and Statistics. I am passionate about exploring new technologies and using my interdisciplinary background to innovate and solve problems effectively. I'm on an exciting path towards becoming a Software Engineer, constantly seeking opportunities to apply my skills in real-world scenarios.

A series of robotics projects focusing on kinematic modeling, path and motion planning, PID control, forward and inverse kinematics, and robot operating systems.

Work Experience

Software Engineer Intern

  • Developed a highly scalable, fault-tolerant ETL pipeline using Python Django in collaboration with 2 engineers to aggregate data from multiple sources, including vendor APIs, Reddit, news outlets, using Agile methodologies.

  • Built scalable RESTful APIs with Redis on AWS ElastiCache, reducing response time for traders and enhancing data analysis performance.

  • Leveraged AWS EC2, Network Load Balancer (NLB), API Gateway, and MongoDB to achieve 99.99% uptime, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance of services.

  • Implemented a real-time data ingestion service using Kafka and MongoDB, optimizing the aggregation and processing of popular news topics from social media.
